The Toaster was equipped with a cassette player.

The Toaster was designed to appeal to a group that loved listening to music and make toast. Along with the music playing capabilities, it was capable of etching very simple messages on to the toast¹⁾.
Following its release, it got popular almost instantly, especially with suburban families. However, a bug was discovered very quickly. The cassette tapes placed into the toaster would catch fire, and following that the toaster would explode²⁾.
After several attempted lawsuits, the toaster was taken off of shelves and quickly forgotten.

The toasters are stored in an abandoned warehouse somewhere in Ohio³⁾.
