As promised, a week has passed and I surprisingly have results. Unfortunately, I didn’t achieve everything I promised within that week…
However, I decided I’d focus on what I did do rather than what I didn’t.
I will proceed to list everything that I have changed… or at least the things I remembered I changed. Listed in no particular order.
What have I added? Well, not as much as I hoped to.
The とある article has been added. Not only that, but it’s in a state where I consider it “decent enough to be read”. It still isn’t as complete as I hoped it would have been.
What I will do with it now is fairly simple… I’ll continue working on it. However, it’s gotten pretty big already, so I’m probably gonna split it into several other articles. I’ve decided to do this only when the individual sections get too large (the character section and the descriptions of characters go too far, the worldbuilding section gets too big (the one most likely to happen soon)).
I added an “index” for Media Analysis. It’s only a place to list analyses that have no media article dedicated to them.
As I said I would, I added a textboard. I’ll keep it as one for now. I decided I’d only split it (create boards for specific topics) if a topic keeps coming up too frequently.
I plan to add my own stylesheet at some point and I’m also gonna try to get the mobile script from 4-ch working.
I added an article for Key although it’s very bare-bones. It’s only a small explanation of who they are and what content they created. It might expand in the future but I can’t promise anything.
Probably the largest change. I added a bunch of Images… like an insane amount. It started with a small idea and then another and suddenly I had them all made.
The number of images will only grow as I get better and better at making them.
I’ve created bare-bones articles for both Little Busters! and Charlotte. Only because I wanted to create banners for them. When I’ll fill them with content, I can’t be sure as they’re fairly low in the priority list.
I made an article on Clans which I will work on improving after some time has passed. You might find it interesting, I can’t be sure.
I copied the styling for Ꜳ from Rumia’s wiki. I have no idea what I’ll use it for… but I got it.
I added two extra images to mark articles as under construction or to rewrite. I’ll explain what that means in a little bit.
What things were updated or changed in this week?
I think I’ve basically figured out my writing style. The /azu/ and Channel4 articles basically made it clear to me and I tried to perfect it in the とある article. From now on, that’s the way I’ll write most things… just that my grammar may improve… along with other things.
I only changed the name of this page to Nakigē. I’ll rewrite it at some point.
I merged the 3 previous articles on Windows ricing into a single article. Now it should be more clear. I’ll be putting all ricing related stuff into there from now on.
I finally got around to changing the logo and favicon. Whether the favicon is working properly I don’t really know though. The change also coincides with me changing my “logo” in general… I think it expresses me better than the previous ones.
I changed start, Essarr LoreBook and Stories. I removed the banner from start (as there was no point to it), I rewrote and rearranged lb and rearranged st.
I changed the entire article on me and now it actually represents an “about” thing.
I rewrote both /azu/ and Channel4 so they’re actually good now.
I may make some minor changes to Channel4… but nothing too drastic.
I changed the names of several tags although I’ve forgotten what those changes were.
The Hydrus article has been rewritten and it’s fairly decent now I think.
This is one of the only things I’m not sure about. While I prefer it over the previous version… it still doesn’t fully agree with me. Rewrite may come sometime in the future… or full-on deletion.
I rewrote the reviews so they are both clearer (maybe) and fuller.
I didn’t get to add information about the characters and worldbuilding yet unfortunately.
I changed the franchise “index”; I removed most tags and rewrote it in general.
The pages for the types of media are now listed as “indexes” which are meant to aide navigation.
Hopefully, they’ll become better than the tags (which I intend to have mostly to help me).
I fixed the styling for spoilers so they actually look decent and you don’t have to select text to see them.
Believe it or not, I have deleted a few things.
I got rid of the multich article as I realised a few things.
Innovative new textboard my ass.
This I removed for two reasons.
It was originally intended as just a set of “myths” and “legends” I’d make up and tell people for fun, because I was agnostic at the time. Since I’ve since started adopting an actual religion, this point is quickly going away.
Instead, I promise to write about my current beliefs in the (hopefully) near future.
I deleted a few tags, although not many.
I saw no point in marking articles specifically as finished… because the construction/rewrite banner is more useful.
Just assume that if neither of those is present, the article is done.
The category tag was basically just replaced with the tag tag. As I found tagging tag pages as categories instead of tags was a needless complication just because I preferred the word category over tag. So now I’m using tag to tag tag pages instead of tagging tag pages as the category tag.
Despair was removed because it served no particular purpose. I’ll be rewriting the despair article anyways so it’s a minor loss.
Fandom I decided to just replace with the internet tag. It’s also entirely possible I’ll not write any fandom-related articles.
Language is maybe a temporary removal? There are currently only 2 articles dedicated to languages so there’s no point in keeping this.
Project R\R only has a passing mention in a single article. I hope to get to R\R by the time I get to the SAO article in my priority list.
So… I added a “to_rewrite” tag. This is not something a regular reader should concern themselves with, as it’s a tag intended for me only. You can ignore it if you want.
It’s there to mark any articles I think don’t conform to my writing style or are just bad. These articles are below my existing list… but they’ll be high-priority when I’m through the list (the list isn’t that long). I don’t recommend reading most of these… because I think they’re bad.
“Construction” is now used to mark articles that are not quite finished. So same as before. I considered deleting this as well… but it’s still fairly useful.
With the changes out of the way…
I’ll start adapting some of my (finished) articles into YouTube videos. Exactly what this means I’m not completely sure yet… but I can say I’m thinking of doing two right now and two in the near future.
Alongside that, I’m thinking of making one for とある and one for the Final Station. Yes, two things that are not on anyone’s mind right now.
However… for that…
I have the mind of a capitalist. I’m setting up a patreon and planning to have it work for… anything and everything I do in the future (which includes the channel, the wiki and some of my other side-projects). It’s not up yet and I’m not planning to put it up until the first video is published… if it’s ever published.
I’ll be blunt and say my primary motivation is money… not passion or anything like that. That being said, I wouldn’t be trying to monetise this stuff if I wasn’t interested in it… but at the same time, I probably wouldn’t be working on any of this if I didn’t see myself getting some money out of it. Money is my primary motivation… but it isn’t my only one.
Many members of the chanverse (if any are reading this) may be disgusted by me wanting to earn some money off of what I do (especially when it isn’t that good)… to that I say… well, whatever.
To make the Patreon announcement far less shitty sounding… I will reveal next week, when I have an article detailing it written.
For now, just keep in mind it’s related to copyright.
Putting it simply… I’ll continue working through my priority list. The next five in the list are…
The list is a little longer of course.
I’ll simultaneously be working on the videos.
What else? Well… maybe a Cowboy Bebop article? But that’s not gonna be soon.
